Prepress: The gateway to aesthetic, ordered printing.

Prepress is the step prior to the print production stage. The prepress department collects the files, documents, images and any other necessary information needed to correctly setup the job. After collecting the files, the prepress technician runs a series of operations to check and refine the job. Then the technician will create proofs depending upon the customers' specifications. New Image Printing & Design offers PDF proofs through email, high-quality color contract print proofs and layout imposition print proofs. Please be sure to look at your proof carefully for any errors or concerns prior to approving. This will save time, materials and ultimately costs. After the proof has been approved, the prepress technician will rip a file from which all of the plates will be made. After the plates are made, they are then placed and run on the printing press.

The best way to ensure that your job prints as intended is to follow our file setup guidelines. If you have any questions regarding file setup or accepted file types, you are encouraged to call (260) 969-0410 or email us at to speak with one of our knowledgeable staff members.
